Hate Meditation's cult 2013 black metal full-length Scars, led by Blake Judd, returns via Back On Black Records on CD and a stunning limited purple vinyl LP reissue, capturing raw, malevolent tempo shifts and icy melodic hooks.
Originally unleashed to critical acclaim, Scars strips away progressive leanings to deliver pure, unadulterated, dirty, and malevolent black metal. Led by Blake Judd, the album is a masterclass in blistering tempo shifts, bleak hypnotic dissonance, and razor-sharp orthodox malice. As Back On Black brings this long-desired physical reissue to light, extreme metal fans have a fresh opportunity to own a cornerstone of modern US black metal brutality.
