THE 1996, SECOND ALBUM FROM ONE OF THE LEADING LIGHTS OF THE INFAMOUS 90's NORWEGIAN BLACK METAL SCENE, INCLUDING BONUS REHEARSAL.
Now considered among the legends of the Norwegian scene following over thirty years of existence, Dodheimsgard's classic second album, 'Monumental Possession' followed swiftly on the heels of the band's debut 'Kronet til Konge' (featuring none other than Darkthrone's Fenriz on bass), & in the process firmly established themselves as one of the leading names of the mid 90's scene, going on to create an eclectic blend of evolving extremity incorporating numerous influences from styles outside of only metal.

A further evolution of their debut, 'Monumental Possession' would bring back the inspired black metal riffing alongside a few elements of thrash for another hellish journey. Joining Vicotnik & Aldrahn on 'Monumental Possession' were Alver (ex-Emperor) on bass & Apollyon (Aura Noir, ex-Immortal) on drums. This CD edition includes bonus tracks taken from a rehearsal recorded prior to the studio sessions in 1995, featuring raw incarnations of final album tracks, an alternate version of 'Angel Death' & an unreleased track originally intended for the 'Monumental Possession' album.

To fans of black metal, Dodheimsgard need no introduction, being as they are one of the great purveyors of the Norwegian Black Metal creative evolution. The band was formed in 1994 by Aldrahn (Thorns, Urarv) & Vicotnik (Ved Buens Ende). The early incarnation was that of a raw & at times melodic black metal band. Over time they became known as one of the premier avantgarde black metal acts, as cemented on the band's mighty 2015 return, 'A Umbra Omega', followed by the magnum opus, 'Black Medium Current' which surfaced in 2023 . One of the top bands & boundary-pushing visionaries of the mid-90's Norwegian Black Metal evolution, DHG are widely hailed as masters of dark & psychotic psychedelia-tinged extremity.
