The early Earache days were a wild time. Alongside the unexpected success of Napalm Death's early material, the highly influential albums from Bolt Thrower, Carcass and Morbid Angel amongst many others, Earache was also keen not to take everything too seriously, and O.L.D.'s debut certainly showcases that.

A humorous take from the early years of grindcore, 'Old Lady Drivers' hits that incredibly difficult target of balancing humour with some damn good musicianship. Nowadays of course, the key players of Alan Dubin and James Plotkin are well known for the deranged intensity of Khanate, but this album was their first demonstration that there is nobody in the metal scene quite like them.

Incredibly, this is one of the very few Earache releases to have never had an official CD release. It's time to change that.
