Possibly one of the classiest and most mellow records Earache has ever put out, albeit via the eclectic Elitist imprint. While Wolverine ooze laid back class, their take on progressive rock has a distinctly sinister edge however, especially lyrically. Although the music straddles the divide between the likes of Pain of Salvation and latter day Queensryche, its the melancholic, impassioned vocal style that sets this up as 'A' list material. Overall this is quality songwriting and playing, with a dark edge that seeps into the brain and remains memorable long after the disc has finished. You'll be humming these tunes for weeks.........
