PITCH SHIFTER CLASSIC 'INFOTAINMENT?' AVAILABLE AGAIN ON SEPTEMBER 24
The long out of print 1996 breakthrough album from UK deviants PITCH SHIFTER, 'Infotainment?', is to be made available again on September 24.
Marking the band's evolution from underground notables to mainstream success, 'Infotainment?' perfected the Pitch Shifter sound, merging a caustic industrial backbone with a growing interest with drum n' bass and techno influences. Tracks like 'Underachiever' and 'Virus' connected with rock fans of all persuasions and paved the way for even greater success, as the band went on to record major label records for both Geffen and MCA, with much commercial and critical acclaim.
'Infotainment?' was produced by Simon Efemey who also worked with UK rock giants Paradise Lost, The Wildhearts and Napalm Death. Pitch Shifter memorably created chaos during their appearance at the UK's Phoenix Festival with a legendary stage invasion, and went on to tour the UK, USA & Europe on Ozzfest and Warped Tours, playing with bands such as Deftones, Quicksand, Tool, Fugazi, Static X, Black Sabbath, Incubus, Taproot, Hundred Reasons and Limp Bizkit. Members of the band recently resurfaced with the This Is Menace project featuring a variety of guests including Matt Davies from Funeral For A Friend, Jeff Walker of Carcass and Casey Chaos of Amen.
Pitch Shifter have recently announced some UK headline shows as follows:

EVILE 'Enter The Grave' and BLOOD RED THRONE 'Come Death' OUT NOW!
This week sees the release of two blistering new releases from Earache death-metallers Blood Red Throne and fast-rising Yorkshire thrashers Evile. The abruptly titled 'Come Death' from Norway's Blood Red Throne offers a dense and unrelenting death-metal sound, which has been described as as 'A solid nod to death metal's old school' (Kerrang!).
Also out this week is the debut release 'Enter The Grave' from Huddersfield thrashers Evile, who are leading the current UK New Thrash Wave. Produced by the legendary Flemming Rasmussen (Metallica), this hotly anticipated release displays a fresh take on an authentic thrash-metal sound.
Summed up by Kerrang! magazine as 'Charged like a battery with the raucous fury of The Haunted at their most savage, honed on a steady diet of early Slayer, Sacred Reich and Nuclear Assault, produced by the hand that ushered in Metallica's 'Master Of Puppets' and 'Ride The Lightening', and distilled through that all-important filter of fresh-faced energy and aggression, 'Enter The Grave' is an absolute hair-swirling, air-punching beast'.

Both of these releases can be ordered online from the Earache webstore now by clicking the links below. All orders of 'Enter The Grave' from the Earache webstore receive a free, exclusive Evile 7-inch. New t-shirts from both bands can also be ordered from these locations:

The NME declare that Thrash is Back!
British weekly music magazine NME has jumped aboard the Thrash resurgence and openly declared that 'Thrash Is Back' in this week's issue. Reaching out to a more mainstream market, the NME delves into the upcoming artists exploding out of the genre and describes Thrash as 'a style of music that makes you want to pour lager over your head and jump off speaker stacks'.
Focusing on Thrash as 'a place where life can be celebrated and consumed', writer James McMahon presents Merseyside thrashers S.S.S, Dublin's Gama Bomb, North Carolina's Sanctity, new Earache signing Evile and Virginian cross-over thrash masters Municipal Waste as the new breed. Speaking to the NME, Municipal Waste's Ryan Waste describes thrash as 'the most honest form of music' and states 'It's aggressive, there's no frills to it, it's straightforward and it's angry but in a positive way - because you're letting it through. You're circle-pitting, you're stage diving, you're using your energy and getting out aggression'.

Earache's grind/noise bands feature in Madrid art exhibition
A group of young Spanish artists are featuring music from Earache's extreme back catalogue in an award winning exhibition on show at the La Casa Encendida art gallery in Madrid, Spain. The exhibition, entitled 'Ruidos, Silencios y la Trasgresion Mordaz. De Fluxus al Techno-Noise' ('Noises, Silences and the Biting Transgression. From Fluxus to Techno-Noise') portrays a creative link between artists belonging to the Fluxus group and their fascination with out-there music.
The music featuring in this exhibition includes sound bites from Napalm Death's 'Scum', A.C 'Everyone Should Be Killed', Brutal Truth 'Extreme Conditions Demand Extreme Responses', Sore Throat 'Disgrace to the Corpse of Sid' and O.L.D 'Old Lady Drivers'.
The exhibition is on show now at the La Casa Encendia Arts Centre until September 9th, and information about the exhibition can be seen here
The artists involved claim to express rejection of traditional values and pursue an interest in noise within their work, particularly forming a connection between noise and transgression. With this in mind, sound bites from some of Earache's most grinding releases prove fitting to express the artists' ideas and visions.
